“Small Schools in the Big City” Grant Honored as Region’s Best

Corporation’s grant to New Visions for Public Schools to create the New Century High School Initiative has been selected byPhilanthropy New York (formerly NYRAG) as one of the region’s 30 most important grants over the past 30 years.

Read a brief description of the New Visions grant on Philanthropy New York’s special “Philanthropy Stories” web site.

To celebrate the reach of the region's grantmaking sector, Philanthropy New York is commemorating its 30th anniversary with a project called "30 Grants in 30 Days." The honored grants collectively illustrate the diversity—and quality—of the work of the organization’s members.

Each work day, Philanthropy New York adds a new story about grants made by its members to www.philanthropystories.org. Taken together, these examples demonstrate philanthropy’s impact over the past three decades.

The winning grant stories were chosen from all submissions following a thorough evaluation process by a committee of communications professionals representing NYRAG member organizations.
