Alice Y. Ting

Alice Y. Ting is the current Ellen Swallow Richards Associate Professor in MIT's chemistry department. After earning her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and completing her post-doctoral research at the University of California, San Diego, where she studied with Nobel Laureate Roger Tsien,Ting joined the faculty of MIT in 2002. With her colleagues, she pioneered the use of reengineered natural enzymes to label site-specific proteins. Among her numerous honors, she was awarded the 2012 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science. Updated 2012
