Vartan Gregorian was presented with The Keeper of the American Dream Award on December 5 in Washington, DC, by the National Immigration Forum, the leading non-governmental agency advocating for the value of immigrants and immigration to the United States.
The Award recognizes Mr. Gregorian for his leadership on behalf of immigrants and his efforts to advance the cause immigration in our society.
The 2012 event coincided with the National Immigration Forum’s 30th year anniversary.
This year’s other honorees were:
Susan Collins, Legislative Director for the Office of Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez, to receive the Champions of the American Dream Award.
Hikmet Ersek, President & CEO of Western Union, to receive the Golden Door Award.
Monica Lozano, Publisher & CEO of impreMedia, to receive the Heroes of the American Dream Award.
Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO, to receive the Heroes of the American Dream Award.
