Continuing their tradition of encouraging exceptional nonprofit organizations, the MacArthur Foundation has named four former Corporation grantees as recipients of the MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. The award is given to organizations engaged in the Foundation’s core fields of work and recognizes their inventiveness and impact in helping to address some of the world’s most challenging problems. The prize, which seeks to ensure awardees’ long-term sustainability, provides each organization with up to $1 million in recognition for past leadership and success, and as an investment in its future.
The Corporation grantees and their key achievements are:
- Firelight Media for its work supporting diverse documentary filmmakers and revealing untold stories;
- iCivics for reinvigoration civics education for a new generation for Americans;
- National Institute on Money in State Politics for tracking campaign financing in all 50 states;
- Roosevelt Institute | Campus Network for galvanizing youth in the process of making public policy.
