Dignitaries, current and former heads of state and other leaders from the African continent are slated to attend the upcoming African Higher Education Summit in Dakar, Senegal, March 10-12, 2015.
The summit, hosted by the Government of Senegal, Corporation grantee Trust Africa and 10 partner organizations, will chart the path forward for higher education across Africa, and represents a key educational component of the African Union’s “African Agenda 2063” development initiative.
According to University World News, former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan will be in attendance, along with Senegalese President Macky Sall, African Union Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, and Vice President for Africa at the World Bank Muktar Diop. African government ministers, academics, and philanthropists from across the continent will also attend.
