Nehal Amer is a program analyst with the Corporation’s Transnational Movements and the Arab Region program. She provides administrative and programmatic support related to Arab region program areas, manages grantee relations, and identifies opportunities to support program strategy.
Amer came to the Corporation from the University of Michigan where she earned an MA in Middle Eastern and North African studies with a focus on labor activism and contemporary social movements, and where she taught an undergraduate course on the cultures and history of the Middle East. She holds a BA from Michigan State University where she studied international relations and comparative cultures and politics. Amer worked with Amnesty International’s Middle East and North Africa Coordination Group as a social media coordinator.
