Voting Rights

Overview

The right to vote is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, but at the founding it was restricted to white men who owned property. Ever since, other Americans, such as women and African Americans, have striven to secure their right to vote. In order for our democracy to remain free and representative, Carnegie Corporation of New York supports such efforts, investing in organizations that work to ensure that the voices of all eligible voters are heard.
