Improved national economic performance requires sustained growth in productivity. The development and diffusion of new technology and its underlying science have been a major source of such growth. In this report, the Task Force makes recommendations to government agencies aimed at strengthening and broadening their interactions with the private sector, and suggests that a Presidential directive be issued to implement the recommendations.
