Research management in African universities: from awareness raising to developing structures

Research management (RM) any action that a university can take to improve the effectiveness of its researchers but which is not part of the research process itself can act as a catalyst for the more efficient use of resources in the short term. In the longer term it can expand the resource pool by increasing access to and improving the management of external funding, thereby enhancing donor confidence in the ability of African universities to deliver. This report explores these and other key benefits of research management at five African universities.
