Pathways to Postsecondary Success

OUR WORK IN PATHWAYS TO POSTSECONDARY SUCCESS

The Pathways to Postsecondary Success portfolio (PPS) aims to advance policies and practices that help young people enter, succeed in, and complete their postsecondary education. To accommodate a diverse range of student needs and ambitions, we need to ensure that all students benefit from high-quality K-12 educational experiences that prepare them for success in higher education and to meet the demands of the 21st-century labor market. We prioritize investments that help institutions of higher education to enroll, retain, and prepare students in more flexible ways; create alignment between traditional K-12, postsecondary, and labor markets; influence the public policy sphere to provide interrelated solutions from an all one system perspective; and help the American public become informed about and demand multiple pathways that combine academic and work-based learning. PPS strives to magnify the impact of existing solutions, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve the three-goals of the Pathways to Postsecondary Success portfolio:

  • Address the lack of alignment between K-12, postsecondary education, and the labor market
  • Improve postsecondary education completion rates
  • Develop and promote multiple pathways to college and careers
