Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service To Gregorian for Russia Work

The Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center presented Vartan Gregorian with the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service in recognition of his many contributions to improving U.S. understanding of Russia and his long-term support for Russian education as President of Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Gregorian was presented with the award on December 6 at the Wilson Center’s Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Awards Dinner in Washington, DC.

The Awards Dinner is an annual event that recognizes individuals demonstrating outstanding and enlightened corporate citizenship and public service in connection with the U.S.-Russian relationship, and is the premier Washington event dedicated to this purpose. The event is a benefit for the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute, a national resource for Russian studies in the United States.

John Faraci received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship for his leadership at International Paper and the formation of Ilim Group, one of the largest U.S.-Russian joint ventures with over 20,000 employees in the Russian Federation.
