Providence Journal: At Brown, Gregorian lauds libraries

Vartan Gregorian says the computer isn’t all good when it comes to helping human society.

He said the computer in its many ever-smaller and faster versions has made it much more difficult for people to organize data in a way that encourages them to see the relationship of the individual to a common purpose that promotes the well-being of society.

The former president of Brown University returned to campus Thursday to talk about the difference between information and knowledge.
