Live From Sochi: Societies Between War and Peace

Corporation Grantees Participate in Russia's Global Forum

As pundits and politicians continue to debate Russia’s endgame in Syria, the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, Russia, is currently hosting a forum on international peace and security.  Titled “Societies Between War and Peace: Overcoming the Logic of Conflict in Tomorrow’s World,” the forum features discussion between political and public figures, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, and international Russia experts.

Scholars supported by Carnegie Corporation of New York, including Columbia University’s Robert Levgold and former U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union Jack Matlock, are among the featured participants who will discuss Russia and the Middle East.

Former Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, who was awarded Carnegie Corporation's 2015 Nunn-Lugar Award for his efforts to promote nuclear disarmament, also delivered remarks.

You can follow the discussion on Russia’s RT news channel, and watch video from previous panels on the Valdai Discussion Club website.
