International Conference Showcases Innovations in Immigrant Integration

The Cities of Migration project, the first international initiative to connect global cities around the shared issues of migration and immigrant integration, convened its 2010 conference in the Hague in early October.  Carnegie Corporation supports the Maytree Foundation, the conference's convener.

Launched in December 2008, the Cities of Migration initiative reaches over 5,500 global integration experts, practitioners and city leaders. By increasing the effectiveness of local integration practices and the policy frameworks that support them, Cities of Migration hopes to advance the place of cities in migration policy internationally.

In September, Cities of Migration was recognized at a High Level Roundtable of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
