Leaders from higher education, state and federal government, philanthropy, and business met at the Time Summit on Higher Education, Sept. 19–20, 2013, to discuss the American university as a driver of research and education for the nation, threats to the university’s continued excellence, and ideas for innovation and reinvention to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
