Comedian, writer, and television personality | 100 Days of #GreatImmigrants | Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Samantha Bee is perhaps best known for her work on “The Daily Show,” where she became the longest-serving correspondent. She departed the “The Daily Show” after 12 years to start her own show. With “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” Bee became the first female host of a late-night satirical news show. She told Yahoo Global News, “Write for yourself. If nobody’s giving you parts, you write one for yourself and you perform it. And you see if the world likes it.” Bee is also the author of a collection of humorous essays, “I Know I Am, But What Are You?” (2010), which cover everything from her parents' views on religion and sex to her pre-“Daily Show” stint as a Japanese anime character.
