Mojgan Rastegar is a program assistant in the Corporation’s Education program. Supporting the Public Understanding portfolio, she advises on portfolio strategy, manages grantee relations, and evaluates new philanthropic opportunities.
Ms. Rastegar has broad experience in education and research. Prior to joining the Corporation she fulfilled her commitment to Teach for America as an English teacher at North Star Academy in Newark, New Jersey. Previously she supervised a project that identified the socioeconomic obstacles facing girls’ primary education in Rajasthan, India, resulting in governmental policy recommendations. She also served as an analyst for a start-up that provides financing for postgraduates in the United Kingdom, coordinating the firm’s university outreach campaign. Fluent in Persian, Ms. Rastegar holds an MS with distinction in development studies from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BA in philosophy and comparative literature from UC Berkeley, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
