Summer Internship Opportunity For Journalism School Graduate
Students
Carnegie Corporation is pleased to announce a summer internship with ABC News
in Summer 2008 for up to 6 graduate students. Students must be nominated by
the Deans of their schools and will be chosen on a competitive basis. The internship
will take place over a 10-week period at ABC News in New York City. Interns
will work with ABC News' award winning Brian Ross investigative unit and obtain
field, reporting and research experience. They will be given desk space at ABC
News, be trained on the ethics and standards of ABC News and on video and reporting
techniques. Kerry Smith, Senior Vice President for Editorial Quality, will be
the executive in charge of this summer institute.
The details of the summer institute are as follows:
Dates: June 9th to August 15th, 2008 for a total of 10 weeks.
Participants:
The internship is open to graduate students who are currently enrolled in a
Journalism School or have graduated as of Summer 2008.
Students must be nominated by the Dean of the Journalism School they attend.
Stipend: Interns will be paid a weekly stipend of $750 for a total of $7,500 for the internship.
Location:
Students will have desks and office space at ABC News, 47 West 66th Street
New York, NY 10023.
Housing: Students will be responsible for their own housing arrangements in New York City.

• A letter of nomination from the Dean of the Journalism School you attend
• A cover letter that explains why you wish to work at ABC for the summer
• A resume
• A completed questionnaire
Applications must be received by March 14th, 2008 for a decision in mid-April 2008.
