About Carnegie Corporation

Kaveri Vaid
Program Assistant
National Program

Kaveri Vaid is a program assistant for the Corporation's National Program, which is concerned with contributing to and supporting a robust and active democracy, fueled by increased educational opportunity, the expansion of high performing educational institutions, and broader understanding of the values of a pluralistic democracy and successful immigrant integration. In this role, Vaid focuses on improving pathways to immigrant civic integration and inclusive participatory citizenship within the Democracy program and on improving access to and use of data and human capital to increase educational opportunity and social mobility within the Education program. In addition, she provides research and project assistance to identify best practices, innovative programs, and potential solutions in cross-cutting areas of interest to the national program.

Prior to coming to the Corporation in 2005, Vaid taught middle school math, science, and reading in New Orleans through Teach for America. She has a BA in English Literature from Williams College and an MA in Political Science/International Relations from Columbia University.
