Program Assistant
National Program
Kaveri Vaid is
a program assistant for the Corporation's National Program, which
is concerned with contributing to and supporting a robust and active
democracy, fueled by increased educational opportunity, the expansion
of high performing educational institutions, and broader understanding
of the values of a pluralistic democracy and successful immigrant
integration. In this role, Vaid focuses on improving pathways to
immigrant civic integration and inclusive participatory citizenship
within the Democracy program and on improving access to and use
of data and human capital to increase educational opportunity and
social mobility within the Education program. In addition, she provides
research and project assistance to identify best practices, innovative
programs, and potential solutions in cross-cutting areas of interest
to the national program.
Prior
to coming to the Corporation in 2005, Vaid taught middle school
math, science, and reading in New Orleans through Teach for America.
She has a BA in English Literature from Williams College and an
MA in Political Science/International Relations from Columbia University.
