Kim
Y. Lew
Director of Investments
As Director of Investments of Carnegie Corporation of New York,
Kim Y. Lew is principally responsible for the management of the
Corporation's private equity portfolio.
Prior
to joining Carnegie, Lew spent seven years as Senior Manager of
Private Equity for the Ford Foundation. In this role she was responsible
for managing the Foundation’s investments in venture capital
and buyout funds. Additionally, she managed the distribution portfolio
and explored new areas of alternative investing. For the five years
prior to that, she was the Technology Portfolio Strategist for the
Foundation. During that time she was responsible for making the
buy, hold, sell decisions for publicly traded stocks in the technology
sector on behalf of the Foundation’s internally managed portfolio.
Before joining Ford, she worked in the Private Placement Group of
Prudential and in the Middle Market Banking Group of the former
Chemical Bank.
Lew
earned a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business. Additionally,
she was awarded her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996.
She has served as both a grader and standard setter for the CFA
exam.
Lew
serves on the Board of Trustees of the Stevens Cooperative School
and serves on the ACLU Investment Committee. She is married and
the mother of two daughters.
