Business Application Delivery Manager
Information Technology Department

Description:
The Corporation seeks to hire a Business Application Delivery Manager to develop, implement, and maintain corporation-wide information processing applications with emphasis on data management through the development of new systems, optimizing and expanding existing applications and database management systems. The Business Application Delivery Manager will devote the majority of his/her time to application and database management duties and managing projects related to those systems. The balance will include IT operational and support functions. The individual will report to the Director of IT. A hard-working, collaborative group, the team is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical person to work in the following areas:

Project Management: The IT department is currently embarking on developing several systems in MS SharePoint. Utilizing the Network Specialist, the Business Application Delivery Manager will manage and implement the MS SharePoint systems. The Business Application Delivery Manager will also manage and coordinate various technology projects as required, ensuring company resources are utilized appropriately and within budget, identify and analyze systems requirements and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. He/She will be responsible for the oversight of assigned projects; set deadlines, delegate responsibilities, monitor and summarize in a timely and meaningful progress report. He/She will lead and direct the work of others (internal staff when appropriate and consultants), with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Database Management and Application Development: The Business Application Delivery Manager will administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the Corporation’s database systems that shall include but are not limited to the Great Plains Dynamics financial system and MicroEdge Gifts SQL-based grants management system; resolve database performance and capacity issues; provide database metrics, field programming enhancements, data migration, archiving, and utilities maintenance; evaluate upgrades to products currently in use and assess emerging products for their capacity to increase staff productivity and cost effectiveness; develop and implement system enhancements to application software, user interface and menus.

IT Operations: As a leanly-staffed but highly efficient IT department, each team member may be called upon to participate in any and all aspects of IT operations on an ad hoc basis, and it is expected that the Business Application Delivery Manager will be able and willing to contribute and perform these duties as required. IT Operations include assisting with the evaluation, installation, configuration, and support of the Corporation’s computer hardware and software, diagnosing and resolving configuration and installation conflicts, user problem resolution, contact and monitor the work of vendors as needed, and other day-to-day IT support functions.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years experience in the Information Technology field managing and developing database systems. SQL Certification is desirable. Other qualifications include:

• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail, process improvements and quality;
• Strong knowledge of the following major systems and applications:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics financial system
  • Microsoft Windows 2003, SharePoint services, XP
  • Familiarity with GIFTS and HRIS a plus.

• Strong project management experience;
• Must be analytical, creative, and detail-oriented;
• Must have demonstrated expertise in a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures for networked systems, hardware and software;
• Excellent oral presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and in a highly flexible and collaborative team environment;
• A commitment to the Corporation’s mission;
• A commitment to continuing education in information technology;

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience; excellent benefits, including five weeks vacation, eleven paid holidays, comprehensive, low-cost medical and dental, 15% of total salary in retirement annuity, generous tuition reimbursement.
