George Soule
Manager of Strategic Communications
George
Soule, the Manager of Strategic Communications in Carnegie Corporation
of New York's public affairs office, works to present the Corporation’s
mission and its programmatic work to external audiences to increase
their knowledge and understanding.
Before
joining the Corporation, George was an independent consultant helping
nonprofit organizations and foundations in the United States and
abroad to create informative public campaigns. Prior to that, Soule
was an Associate Director with the Rockefeller Foundation for ten
years. At the Foundation, he created and implemented communications
strategies to advance the public education, visibility and advocacy
goals of Rockefeller and its grantees. George also managed press
relations and extensive print and electronic publications and crafted
public messages for Foundation-wide use. He has worked as a Vice
President at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide where he initiated
and managed communications programs for corporate, government and
non-profit clients. Early in his career he held positions at Ogilvy/Adams
& Rinehart and Wolfe Lombard, communications consultancies.
Soule
earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Duke
University and a Master of International Affairs degree in international
political economies from Columbia University's School of International
and Public Affairs.
