Stephen Ansolabehere is a
professor of government at Harvard and served as a co-director
of the CatlTech/MIT Voting Project, established in the wake of
the 2000 Presidential election to evaluate the reliability and
US voting systems and to propose uniform guidelines and requirements.
He is an expert on elections, democracy, and the mass media.
Nathaniel Persily, a professor
of law and political science at Columbia University, is a nationally
recognized expert on election law and a frequent practitioner
and media commentator in the field. He is also the founder and
director of the Center on Law and Politics at Columbia Law School.
Persily's scholarship focuses on American election law and issues
such as voting rights, political parties, campaign finance and
redistricting.
Wendy R. Weiser directs the NYU Law
School’s Brennan Center for Justice’s work on voting
rights and elections. During the run-up to the 2004 and 2006 elections,
She masterminded litigation and advocacy efforts that kept hundreds
of thousands of voters from being disenfranchised. She is a frequent
public speaker and media contributor on election reform issues.
Carnegie Corporation Hosts Breakfast for Hans Blix
On April 10, 2008, in conjunction with the Boston
Review, Vartan Gregorian, President of Carnegie Corporation
and Deb Chasman of the Boston Review hosted a breakfast for Dr.
Hans Blix, Chair of the Swedish Government's Weapons of Mass Destruction
Commission, on the publication of his book, Why Nuclear Disarmament
Matters.

Carnegie
Corporation Hosts Forum on Challenges of Iraq
On October 2, 2007, in conjunction with the Boston
Review, Vartan Gregorian, President of Carnegie Corporation
and John Shattuck, Chief Executive Officer of the John F. Kennedy
Library Association co-hosted a Carnegie Forum on Iraq. The discussion,
was the second in a two-part series entitled, "The Challenges
in Iraq" which combines the important work that the Boston Review
has published on the war in Iraq with the John F. Kennedy Library's
capacity to convene public and private conversations about important
policy issues.
The Carnegie Forums comprise an occasional series of working luncheons
and roundtable discussions that focus on national and international
issues. An essential component of these events are the comments
and questions from the audience of academic and policy leaders,
foundation colleagues and journalists.
