African Higher Education
Claudia Frittelli is a Program Officer in the International Program
at Carnegie Corporation. She develops and oversees grants on strengthening
African universities including information and communication technology
(ICT) infrastructure, e-learning, building research capacity, gender
equity, and quality assurance. Her work includes coordination with
the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa, a joint effort of
Carnegie Corporation of New York, and the Ford, MacArthur, Rockefeller,
William and Flora Hewlett and the Andrew W. Mellon foundations to
build the capacity of African universities in the field of higher
education in African countries including Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique,
Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ms.
Frittelli has over 10 years experience in international development,
information and communication technologies, and public private partnerships
which has included strategic consulting to foundations, global non-profits
and the private sector. She was formerly a Manager of the Global
Digital Opportunity Initiative, a public private partnership focused
on national ICT strategies in developing countries at the Markle
Foundation. Her prior background includes five years in telecommunications
business development at France Telecom and in the Internet sector.
Ms.
Frittelli holds an MBA from the American Graduate School of International
Management, Thunderbird, an M.A. in Linguistic Studies from Syracuse
University.
